Loyola Marymount Tree Lighting Ceremony

Holiday lighting sets the tone for excitement! Pacific Event Lighting is excited brings us back to a simpler time with LMU, where traditions and family take priority over the hustle and bustle of daily life. We were honored to be a part of LMU’s annual tree lighting tradition this year as the students celebrated the holidays together.

With the backdrop of LMU’s Sacred Heart Chapel we created this holiday space complete with snowflake gobos, festive palm trees and the iconic Christmas Tree in the center. See a few of our favorite photos below.

3rd Street Tree Lighting Ceremony

Happy Holidays! This time is usually the busiest for Pacific Event Services as we get to be a part of lighting all the joyful celebrations of the holidays. One such celebration is the Santa Monica Tree Lighting Ceremony. This celebration is an annual event that takes place on the first of December. Believers of all ages follow along as Santa is escorted by mounted horse patrol from the Santa Monica Police Department, cirque-style acrobats, trumpeters and holiday carolers.

The holidays are here! It is officially the day after Thanksgiving, in some circles this means it’s time to break out the the holiday decor and light up homes and neighborhoods with string lights. Every year there are tragic injuries from lighting and decor mishaps. In previous years there has been significant warnings and coverage from outlets like NBC & Huffington Post The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has even issued Press Releases on the dangers of improper lighting.

At PES, it’s an amazing challenge to stay on top of new trends and maintain our inventory to meet the needs of our clients. We have recently expanded our inventory with specialty pieces that serve both form and function adding both decorative and lighting elements to our events.

With specialty pieces, the placement and environment surrounding the pieces can make as much of an impact as the piece itself. At PES, we like to think about three dimensions of space with regard to lighting: left to right, front to back and top to bottom. By using this model, we ensure we can deliver a consistent ambiance and a well-rounded space.

One big look has been to bring chandeliers outdoors. While a once glamorous indoor ballroom fixture, chandeliers have become popular in outdoor settings from woodland realms to beachfront cabanas. At this wedding at Calamigos Ranch, PES’s chandeliers were delicately hung from existing trees. They added a touch of ambient light over the dining tables for dinner. The crystal droplets and lightly painted ironwork also added a decorative element to break up the deep green of the tree’s canopy.
