How to Incorporate Lighting Into Your Eclectic Vintage Look

1024 1012 Pacific Event Services

Choosing a look is an important step for every event. After all, you want your décor to look amazing, and to be more than a representative for your personality – and having a theme to unify all the elements is a more than essential when it comes to this.

How do you make sure your lighting is consistent with your eclectic vintage theme? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

Candles. There’s nothing prettier than candlelight – so if you want to add a dash of romance and beauty, you should definitely use candles for lighting. The best way to incorporate them in an eclectic vintage theme is by focusing on the candle holders – you need something with a distinct vintage flair, whether it’s from the Roaring Twenties, or a more ambiguous vintage touch.

  • Edison light bulbs. Very popular these days, Edison light bulb arrangements are ideal for those who want to be really unique. Because of their old-school appeal, these light bulbs can be perfect– and no, you don’t have to incorporate Victorian design motifs all over (this is where the “eclectic” part comes in, right?). However, we do suggest you make sure you create a well-balanced look if you want to create a nice, welcoming vibe.
  • What could be more glamorous than chandeliers? Gorgeous, unique, and definitely elegant, chandeliers can be incorporated into the most surprising ways – and they are perfect for those who want their big day to really shine.
  • Table lamps. Bring that bedroom coziness into your event by placing vintage table lamps on each of your vignettes. With some flowers and great attention to detail, the lamps can really turn into splendid centerpieces – and they are ideal for someone who wants a cozy, welcoming, yet quite an informal look. Plus, you can always mix and match them to create a very eclectic, interesting appeal!

Regardless of the lighting type you may choose, remember to pay attention to details and to choose elements that truly represent you. At the end of the day, fashion will go away and trends will fade out – but your pictures are there to remember you…plus, social media! 😉

Types of Unique Chandeliers for Lighting for Greater Impact & WOW Factor

900 504 Pacific Event Services

Lighting bears a huge importance in the way the entire ambiance is constructed within your special event. And yet, before you make any kind of choice, you will first want to make sure you understand the differences between different types of lighting.

For example, what do you know about the different types of chandeliers? If you are curious to learn more about this, read on and find out more.

  • Classic chandeliers are torn out of fairytales, and can definitely add that out-of-this-world appeal you love so much. Elegant, timeless, royal, and really stunning, classic chandeliers will hang from your ballroom ceilings like jewelries – and they will make your décor look truly magnificent. And if you want to use classic chandeliers in a less formal way, you can definitely do that too – but you will have to make sure to balance things out and combine the elegance and luxury of the chandeliers with more informal, casual elements.

  • Geometric chandeliers. Inspired by the classic “siblings”, but really more modern, geometric chandeliers are perfect for those of you who want an elegant visual in a contemporary context. Hang them from a museum room, or from an unconventional urban location to add a dash of stylishness and uniqueness to your entire event. Hang them from a vintage ballroom to create an unforgettable Roaring Twenties/ Art Nouveau appeal. And even hang them at your backyard to make things more special, more eclectic, and more non-conformist.

  • Edison light bulb chandeliers. Unique and creative, Edison light bulb chandeliers are lighting fixtures that make you think really outside of the box. They are absolutely perfect for an event in another country setting, precisely because they add that “DIY” and “old-school” vibe. Plus, this type of chandeliers will offer a versatility you will absolutely love. Think creatively and you will definitely come up with something genuinely original with these chandeliers!

Of course, these are just some of the types of chandeliers out there. These days, there’s something for just about anyone – and the freedom of creativity you have will definitely stimulate you to create a truly special atmosphere. Don’t be afraid to be different – this is your event and it should reflect you and your personality!

How to Incorporate Lighting Into Your Rustic Glam Look

900 599 Pacific Event Services

Rustic Glam weddings are a huge trend – and you really do have all the reasons to love them. Somewhere in between “country” and “urban”, “casual” and “elegant”, and “vintage” and “modern”, this wedding theme is taking over the bridal world in full force.

Do you want to have a Rustic Glam wedding too? If yes, you will definitely want to decorate it in a beautiful way – and lighting is crucial when it comes to this. How to incorporate pretty lighting into a Rustic Glam wedding? Read on and find your inspiration.

  • Arrangements made with Edison light bulbs. Thought Edison light bulbs are heading towards complete annihilation? Think again, they can look absolutely amazing when used in a creative way. For instance, imagine a long wooden table covered with delicious treats, with an arrangement made with clusters of Edison bulbs hovering above the table. Doesn’t that sound good?
  • Mismatched floating lanterns. Old-school but adorable, lanterns are always a great choice for a countryside wedding. Want to breathe a bit of originality into the idea, though? Arrange them in a mismatching manner on the ceiling of your wedding tent – they will look amazing.
  • You may think the elegance of chandeliers has nothing to do with Rustic Glam weddings – but it can work out pretty well. The chandeliers will add a dash of sophistication and luxury to your barn or country wedding, and they will create an eclectic feel everyone will absolutely love.
  • Bistro lights. Probably the most popular type of lighting among rustic wedding brides, bistro lights are more than versatile. You can arrange them for a splendid wedding ceremony backdrop, you can arrange them as a “teepee” made with lights, you can write words with them, or you can simply use them to add a little bit of light and beauty to an otherwise simpler space.
  • Want the ultimate romantic light at your wedding? Opt for candles – but not the traditional way. Take large, white candles, and place them in spray-painted bottles for a touch of uniqueness. If you want to paint them in golden sparkle, it could create a truly beautiful, casual-glamorous look for your flower arrangements.

Despite the type of lighting you may choose, we strongly recommend you to work with true professionals in this field. Not only will they know how to pull it off, but it is safer for you and for your wedding guests too.

PartySlate LA Launch Party

600 400 Pacific Event Services

This summer, Pacific Event Services had the pleasure of teaming up with some the most talented event industry professionals to bring to life this gorgeous Los Angeles launch party for PartySlate. PartySlate brings a fresh new media platform to the industry where professionals are able to share their online portfolios of work ranging from luxury weddings, to mitzvahs and special events.

Over 400 people gathered at industrial chic Los Angeles venue At the P to celebrate the launch with impeccable decor, unique cocktails, and incredible cuisine. Shawna Yamamoto Event Design transformed the venue’s outdoor space into a romantic garden with tons of greenery and an elegant palette of white and blue decor. Wrought Iron furnishings set the tone for the design and crisp white florals in blue and white chinoiserie vases added romantic touches.

Inside, designer Rrivre Works played off of the “Cole” room’s industrial finishes by adding modern furnishings and mixed textures. Hanging greenery throughout and the combination of metal and wood pieces were the perfect combination to accentuate the exposed brick walls and wood beam ceilings. Live music and dancing waiters added some fun elements to the evening along with a photo booth, make-up touch ups by Blushington, and a Cappuccino Man. We were happy to illuminated the courtyard with PartySlate‘s branding and other lighting projections throughout the event that lent to the incredible atmosphere.

Special thanks to Brian Leahy Photography and Hoo Films for capturing the memorable moments!

Love In Motion Styled Shoot On Grace Ormonde

600 400 Pacific Event Services

We are thrilled to be featured on Grace Ormonde Wedding Style for the “Love In Motion” editorial shoot that we were recently part of! From the dramatic hanging floral displays by Shawna Yamamoto Event Design to the romantic tablescape designed by Hylah White Special Events, we loved providing lighting that helped set the tone for the gorgeous shoot.

The inspiration behind this editorial shoot was the concept of ‘Love in Motion’.  Love is an action, which makes it a constant motion.  Since love is something you do and feel, we wanted the action of affection to be reflected in all elements of the decor from beginning to end, and Duke Photos perfectly captured just that.

We had the saying ‘Your love moves me’ in calligraphy by Calligraphy by Katrina as the ceremony back drop as not only a nod to the vision but as a reminder us just how powerful of love is.  The bridesmaids gowns by Kennedy Blue were rich in color and really made the custom couture gown and veil by RMINE radiate.  Pacific Event Services really set the mood for the event with their spectacular lighting, making sure to highlight the fabulous venue space A The P. ” – Hylah White Special Events

new lighting technologies

New Lighting Technologies

1024 644 Pacific Event Services

As the bride and groom, you want your wedding to be perfect from all points of view – and the lighting you choose can be extremely important. What are the new lighting technologies you might want to consider for your Big Day’s décor? We have gathered some suggestions right below – so read on and find out more to inspire yourself.

  • Video mapping. This is one of the most impressive and magnificent recent additions to the wedding lighting world. Basically, this new and mesmerizing technology will display animations on the elements of your choice. It may be your dress, the walls of your wedding reception venue, or even your wedding cake – as long as it’s plain (and preferably white), your chosen animations will look absolutely breathtaking when “mapped”.
  • LED lighting. Not necessarily very new, but more than definitely noteworthy, LED lights have grown to be hugely popular among brides and grooms. There’s something about their versatility, resilience, and affordable price that makes LED lights really stand out and still be one of the most highly-appreciated choices among brides and grooms. Ideal for a modern and elegant wedding and for couples who need just a bit of extra personalization for their wedding venue!
  • Gobo lighting. Also very popular, Gobo lights are excellent for those of you who want to add a dash of uniqueness to the wedding décor. Even the simplest venue can be transformed when you project arabesque patterns or even your wedding monogram on the wall!
  • Up Lighting. This type of lighting is quite widely spread as well – and not without reason. Up Lighting can instantly transform a space, making it more intimate, more personal and more colorful. Choose it if you want to add accents of color in different parts of the room – it will look magically beautiful!
  • Going back to the basics. Definitely not new, basic lighting options that remind people of a non-technological past are in high fashion too. What is not to love about fairy lights, cute paper lanterns, and candlelight? Perfect for outdoor summer weddings where “whimsical”, “playfulness” and “fairytale” meet with the modern event!

No matter what wedding lighting options you may choose, one thing will always be important: only settle on wedding décor elements that truly represent you, not the latest glossy magazine trends. You only get married once, so make this your Big Day in the fullest sense of the word!

Ways to Use Lighting at Your Events

1024 684 Pacific Event Services

Regardless of whether you are planning for a birthday party or for a wedding, lighting is a crucial element you cannot actually skip. After all, you want your lighting to complement all of the other elements – the ones you really handpicked one by one.

What are some of the best ways to use lighting at your events? We have some tips for you – so read on if you need just a bit of inspiration for your next big event.

  • Gobo lighting. This type of lighting is especially popular among events that follow a modern-elegant aesthetic, but you have definitely seen it look amazing in other contexts too. Choose gobo lighting if you want to add a pop of energy the vibe created at your wedding! It will look equally amazing with your wedding monogram, with your company’s name, or with any other meaningful words you want to project on the walls.
  • Up lighting. Want to add color to a simple wedding venue? Nothing simpler, really. With modern up lighting technology, the entire room can be bather in your favorite color, so that it complements the rest of the décor and your personality as well. Very popular with modern chic weddings too!
  • Be them electric or very traditional, candles have something very romantic about them. Place them in the middle of the table for a warm and welcoming centerpiece, or place them along the walls of the venue if you want to create a magical, old-school vibe every single guest there will love.
  • Planning a vintage, retro, or simply an outdoor wedding? Lanterns are crazy popular with weddings, anniversaries, and wide range of other events too. If you want to create a gorgeous vintage appearance, opt for antique-looking lanterns (place them on the tables, on the pathway leading to the venue entrance, or simply hang them above the dance floor). If you want something a bit more playful, paper lanterns in your party’s colors are a very, very good choice too!

No matter what type of lighting you may choose for your next event, remember that hiring a professional to deal with it all is a very important step in making sure everything looks flawless. So, go ahead, find a lighting service provider who is reliable, honest, and who knows how to combine your wishes with your venue and the décor there. It will be worth every penny!

event signage ideas

Event Signage Ideas

1024 684 Pacific Event Services

Planning a big event soon? We bet you want every single detail to look absolutely flawless – and we definitely understand the importance of this. Regardless of whether it’s a birthday party, an anniversary, a corporate event, or a wedding, this is a big moment in your life and you want to celebrate it in high style.

Of course, you will want to include one of those fun event signs and messages too – but how do you do it? We have gathered some of the most popular ideas for you – so read on and inspire yourself.

  • Neon lights. Perfect for those of you who want their message to really pop! It may be a simple “Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad”, or it may be the date of your wedding. If you want your signage to be more than energizing, neon lights are absolutely perfect. And yes, they can be worked into a more elegant décor too – but you do have to use your creativity for something really nice.
  • Video mapping. This is one of the freshest newcomers in the event signage and lighting tech spectrum – but it is by far one of the most impressive ones too. A beautiful video containing colors, stars, words, and basically everything you want can be projected on a white object – such as the cake, the wedding dress, or any other part of the venue. This idea will make your event look absolutely mesmerizing.
  • Twinkle lights. Those adorable little lights everyone’s including in their outdoor weddings and events? Yep, they can be used as signage too. You don’t have to be very thorough with the message – a simple “LOVE” or the name of your company can be written “in the air” or on a wall with the help of twinkle lights. They will look so pretty, so beautiful, and they will create such a cozy atmosphere!
  • The already classic blackboard is another great way of adding powerful messages to your event. If you want to make it pop, you can decorate the blackboard with lights too – or, why not, you can use classic backstage mirrors as your “canvas” too. Either way, these ideas are perfect for those who love a casual, old-school, but smart-and-sassy event.

The sky is the only limit you have when it comes to event signage – so don’t be afraid to step out of the box and think of ideas that are totally unique. We bet it will look impressive for your wedding!
